Ramna Park: A lovely place to visit

Ramna Park is a stunning and expansive urban park located in the heart of Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. With an area of over 68 acres, it is one of the largest green spaces in the city and a popular destination for locals and tourists alike.

The park is known for its lush greenery, scenic lakes, and peaceful atmosphere, making it a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. It was originally built during the British colonial era in the late 1800s and was initially named 'Company Bagh'. However, after the independence of Bangladesh in 1971, it was renamed Ramna Park in memory of the victims of the brutal massacre that took place in the park during the country's War of Liberation.

The park features a variety of attractions and activities for visitors to enjoy. One of the most notable features is the beautiful Rose Garden, which boasts over 40,000 rose plants of various colors and sizes, making it a favorite spot for nature lovers and photographers. The lake, which is home to a variety of water birds, is also a popular spot for boating and fishing.

The park also houses a number of monuments and sculptures, including the Shahid Minar, a towering monument built in memory of the martyrs of the Language Movement, and the Liberation War Museum, which showcases exhibits and artifacts from the country's struggle for independence.

In addition to its natural and cultural attractions, Ramna Park is also a popular spot for recreational activities such as picnics, jogging, and cycling. It has several playgrounds and sports facilities, including a basketball court, a volleyball court, and a cricket field, making it a perfect place for families and groups of friends to enjoy a day out.
